Last Tuesday 25th June we held our regular CP Training Night, however on this occasion we changed the format to a round table discussion. Contributions from waterproofer’s, builders, bathroom renovators, roof plumbers, manufacturers, and consultants, highlighted the compliance process and information gaps in meeting contractual obligations under Victorian law.
Discussion on: the Remedial waterproofing market – approaches and compliance documentation; lack of understanding of the Below Ground waterproofing compliance; the need for better waterproofing design before commencement; the increasing litigious environment; poor building practices; and the dispute process kept the conversation brisk. Those attending got a lot out of the discussion, with special thanks to Karl (Australian Waterproofing Consultants) for his many technical contributions and stories of the New Zealand experience.
